The Role
We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Baggage Handlers to join our team at Sydney Airport (SYD). In this role, you will be responsible for the safe handling, loading, and unloading of baggage and cargo to support efficient aircraft turnaround operations.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role within the aviation environment, requiring strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload baggage and cargo from aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
• Sort and transport baggage to and from designated airport areas.
• Operate baggage handling equipment and vehicles (training provided where required).
• Ensure baggage is handled carefully to minimise damage and loss.
• Follow all airport safety, security, and airside operational procedures.
• Work collaboratively with ramp, catering, and ground operations teams to meet flight schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to strict timeframes to support on-time aircraft departures and arrivals.

Selection Criteria

• Previous experience in ramp operations, warehousing, logistics, or manual handling roles is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Full Australian working rights.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor airport environment.
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Availability to work a seven-day rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
