The Role
We are seeking motivated and reliable Catering Assistants to join our team at Sydney Airport (SYD). In this role, you will support the preparation, assembly, packing, and delivery of airline catering in a fast-paced aviation environment, ensuring all meals and equipment meet strict quality, safety, and presentation standards.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a time-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and assembly of airline meal trays and catering items.
• Pack, label, and check airline catering according to customer specifications.
• Load and unload catering carts and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in food handling areas.
• Follow food safety, HACCP, and company operational procedures.
• Support the catering production team to meet strict flight schedules.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, pushing, and moving catering equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.

Selection Criteria

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food production, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (training provided).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
